Surrounded by fabrics, haberdashery, and sewing machines from a young age has taught me deep appreciation for textiles and design.
Pursuing creativity has led to education in different facets of design and making such as floristry, costume design, digital fabrication, graphic design, and textiles.
My current focus is establishing a deeper connection with textiles through embroidery, mark making, and sewing. From wall art to fashion to upholstery, the making is ever evolving.
Inspiration flows from the natural world, the built environment, my Indonesian heritage, and the everyday. By exploring composition, texture, and colour, I cultivate a diverse perspective.
Reflection and curiosity drive my creative process. As so much of life is full of the unknown, the retrospection of the triumphs and challenges I’ve experienced bring fluidity into my design and making.
The element of play is critical in my making practice, as it detaches expectations of perfectionism which can be detrimental to my flow state. Embracing playfulness fosters experimentation and serendipity, revealing joy and new opportunities for growth.
